Home Tuition
We offer a range of options for our students to suit their budget and needs. This includes a choice of an undergraduate, graduate or qualified schoolteacher. Prices vary accordingly, however, we can assure all three options are hired after extensive screening of their academic qualifications and teaching experience.
If you are not happy with your current tutor, we’d be more than happy to arrange a new tutor for you. We understand each student-tutor compatibility is just as important as the tutor’s qualifications.

We have tutors for a wide range of subject from primary level to GCSE and A-levels. We particularly have many specialist tutors for the core subjects English, Maths and Science. Visit our Home Tuition page for more information.

We only require one week’s notice in order to terminate your tuition. We would hate to see you leave, so please do contact us for further options before termination.
In order to cancel or reschedule a session, we would require a minimum of 24 hours notice. This notice can be given to us via a telephone call, email or text.
Any cancellation requested under 24 hours will incur a charge. Our tutors will reserve a weekly slot for you and will ensure to work their other commitments around this slot. Any cancellations under 24 hours can heavily affect the tutor’s schedule, hence the fee. Usually the student will be charged at the rate of one hour’s tuition fee.
Our tutors are very committed to attending all their sessions with you, however, in any case of an emergency, Tutorbase will do their utmost to notify you as soon as possible. Our tutors are also required to make up for any missed sessions, even if they’ve notified you of the cancellation in advance. This is at the discretion of the student/parent, however, we always recommend making up for any missed sessions to ensure the student’s progress is not effected.
Of course! However, this is subject to your tutor being available on the given day and time. Some of our tutors have very busy schedules, however, they are usually more than happy to reschedule for a more suitable date and time. You can discuss this with the tutor in advance or give us a call/email to help arrange the session.
We require one week’s notice to cancel your tuition permanently, however, if you have any concerns on your current service we’d highly advise you to give us a call to see if we can help. We could discuss changing the lesson structure, changing the tutor or even arranging a different type of tutor (undergraduate/graduate/qualified teacher).
We want to make payment for tuition as easy as possible for all our clients. Hence, we have several options available to cater everyone’s needs. Payments can be made via a bank transfer into our company account, over the phone through our secure payment portal, on our website or clients are free to visit us at one of our centres to pay in cash to our admins.
Some parents may find it easier to pay in cash, however, our tutors are not able to take cash payments directly as there wouldn’t be any record/proof of the payment. However, to cater to clients who prefer to pay in cash, we can take cash payments of your fees in our centres where a physical receipt will be provided as proof of your payment by one of our admins. This will protect both the client and the company in any case of a payment confusion in future. Cash payments can also be made over the counter at your bank straight into our company account.
Payments are due by the end of each calendar month. All invoices are sent out on the 25th of each month with a list of all your lesson dates, amount required to pay and your personal reference number. Invoices are usually required to be paid within 7 days of receipt of our invoice, otherwise further charges will be added to the invoice as well as tuition being suspended until payment is made in full.
At Tutorbase our main aim to make our tuition affordable and accessible for all our customers, however, our prices are non-negotiable. We are careful to ensure each of our pricing options are calculated such that we can keep running our organisation and charging the lowest price possible, whilst maintaining our high standard of education. Centre Tuition
We only employ the best tutors in our centre, however, in order to keep our students’ fees at an affordable rate we only employ graduate and undergraduate tutors at our centres. We can assure all three options are hired after extensive screening of their academic qualifications and teaching experience.

Our centres primarily focus on the core subjects English, Maths and Science. We offer tuition for these subjects for students from primary level to GCSE level. We also offer A-level Maths tuition. Please visit our Centre tuition page for more information.
Our Osmani Centre session is open from 11am to 2pm and our St Paul’s Way centre from 11am to 3pm. We are working to increase our centre hours so please contact us if these times do not suit you. We would be able to place you on a waiting list for future.
We offer centre bookings on a 4-week basis or 12 week basis. Due to our low cost fees, we are not able to refund any sessions that are unused. Please see our cancellation policies below for more information.
For our centre sessions which are paid in a termly advance are ineligble to be cancelled/rescheduled. However, we are also rarely able to offer rescheduling any missed sessions if a minimum of 24 hours notice is provided. Students may inform us of any absence via a telephone call, email or text.
As all centre sessions are booked in advance and we reserve your seat for the full term/month, we are not able to reschedule any sessions.
If for any reason you are planning a break/absence, please kindly notify us in advance and we will check if there is any arrangement that can be made.
We require 4 weeks notice for termination of centre tuition bookings. Following the 4 weeks period, any remaining credit will be refunded to you via BACS transfer directly into your bank account. You will still be able to benefit from our sessions until the 4 weeks period has ended!
If for any reason you wish to terminate tuition with immediate effect, a £40 admin fee will be charged on the oustanding credit, thereafter any remaining credit will be refunded to you via BACS transfer directly into your bank account.

Please note, registration fees are required to be paid in advance of your first session. Remaining monthly/termly fees can be paid by cash/card upon arrival on your first session.
Payments are made every 4 weeks for monthly bookings and every 12 weeks for termly bookings. We will also ensure to notify you at least a week before your fees expire to allow enough time to arrange the next fee payment.
